Flu Vaccinations-Well done from Dr Watson
Posted on 6 Oct 2020
GENERAL PRACTICE AT ITS BEST
Dr J Watson
As one of the GP partners of Forest House Surgery who has been absent from work for a while and not involved in this year’s Flu campaign I would like to commend the whole team on their amazing effort to vaccinate nearly 1800 residents of Shepshed against Influenza in just three weeks.
In previous years it would take us three months to provide this level of service.
The team have surpassed themselves in their organisation skills, clinical responsibilities and dedication. They have given up their family and free time to run Saturday Flu Clinics. Every member of the team ranging from management, administrative staff, receptionists, cleaners, nurses and HCA’s to the partners have excelled in my eyes to try and keep our elderly and at risk patients well this winter, not to mention the preschool age children who have attended.
We are still taking appointments for flu vaccinations for those patients aged 65 and over, under 65 and in an at risk group and for the preschool age children.
With the government announcing that patients between the ages of 50 to 65 can also have a flu vaccination this year, we are ready to go again once the vaccinations are here. We will let you know when we have confirmed supplies and appointments in this age range can be made.
Well done to Forest House Surgery for an amazing effort in looking after the local community,
YOU SHOULD ALL BE VERY PROUD.
